YOU ARE WELCOME HERE
St. Luke's is a caring community made up of individuals who love God,
each other and those God gives us to care for. No one is a stranger at St. Luke's.
We welcome all of our brothers and sisters in Christ regardless of race, gender,
economic status, sexual orientation, marital status or age.
We firmly believe that God's grace is for all of God's children.

The congregation is a member of the NJ Synod
of the EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH IN AMERICA.

SUNDAY WORSHIP

10:00 AM Worship with Holy Communion
Each Sunday we gather around God's word and sacrament (all baptized
Christians who believe that the Lord is present in the sacrament are welcome
to come to the table) to hear about his creative and redeeming love for us.

Children are welcome and encouraged to attend worship. Coloring pages
are available for use during the service. They are invited to come forward for
a Youth Conversation. If you need to take your child out for any reason, you can
hear the service in the narthex through a speaker. A nursery is also available.

Taizé Prayer Services
Are you tired of running from place to place and activity to activity?
Are you sick of all the noise that pollutes the air? Do you need some quiet time for reflection? Would you like to spend some quiet time with God? If so, please join us.
3rd Sunday of each month at 2:00pm
(final service of the season is May 17)

About Taizé (pronounced ta-ZAY)
The Taizé Prayer Service, named after the village in France where it originated,
is a group method of Christian Prayer that combines Bible readings
with meditative silences
and repetitive singing /chanting.
Songs are often 1 or 2 lines long and are repeated over and over.
This service is loose in structure.
Icons, candles or other objects will be used to help focus our prayers.
It is our most sincere hope that, for this brief time,
you can be still
and be at peace in the presence of God.

6-Week Book Study - "The Shack"
Thursdays, May 14, 21, 28 and June 11, 18, 25
7:00 pm

We will be studying the NY Times #1 Best Seller, The Shack by William Paul Young

When Mack Philips' daughter is abducted and murdered, he has a crisis of faith.
He is invited back to the shack where they found her bloodied dress.
There he encounters God in the 3 persons of the Trinity and he struggles
with his relationship with God. This book deals with many of the questions and issues
we have with God and offers some thought.

The book can be purchased online or at any bookstore.
Please let Pastor Judy know if you plan to attend.

6-Week Sermon Series
Beginning Sunday, June 14
Have you ever wondered where the litergy originated? Have you really thought

This sermon series will help us to look at where the words come from in the Bible,
as well as help us to reflect on what we are saying or singing when we worship
and what those words really mean.
